After I realized the the Red under all that crappy paint might look good acepting all the dings and stuff I hit the quarter with some wax and was surprised at how good it seemed to look. Then add an equal amount of salt to the vinegar, stir it thoroughly, and insert the metal so it can sit in the solution and create a vinegar-salt patina. I had used a razer blade on the top of the rear drivers fender to remove both orange and black but I was seriously damaging the remaining red underneath.
